1. Waking up

[Shotaro didn't expect the afterlife to have comforting beds. Comforting or not, he bolted awake realize that fact. A bed? A body? Was it all just a nightmare? God, he hoped so. The knowledge had made him sigh at first...until the next second where he was. This was not his room or the infirmary. There was no stack of desks that Caster claimed for her own. There was nothing familiar, aside from the device next to him.

That and a strange note. He grabbed it, holding it up to his face. Reading it though, he blinked. World ending? A strange introduction to the afterlife, but this was just...He read over it again. And again. And again until the fact was hammered into his brain.

The confusion was all too clear. That, and the fear of this brought. He was killed. Caster was killed before even him. None of this made sense!]

2. Hungry

[Who thought dying would leave such an appetite? He thought he wouldn't be able to eat, thoughts from before not helping him in the slightest, guilt constantly hammered into him from before. Even so, he needed some energy in him.

He stares strangely at the oatmeal, eyebrow raised. He was familiar with the meal, but was used to eating meals that were, well, good. Shrugging, he ate a spoonful.

And his eye twitched. He was now fighting the urge not to spit it back out. This really was hell, wasn't it?]

3. Monsters

[Oh he was right about this being hell now. A poor magus at best, and zero fighting talent, of course he would be running from some monstrosity. It didn't matter if it was a zombie, a Mirelurk, hell hounds, or even a Deathclaw, he was running for dear life!]

[ The voice is awfully childish. He appeared to be licking something... red and goopy off of one of his fingers, as he playfully skips through the room. His eyes were bright yellow, and despite how cold it was in the Tower, he didn't appear to be anything more than mildly inconvenienced by the temperature despite being oddly underdressed for the weather, in only a long sleeved, partially unzipped jacket (bearing a design oddly familiar to that of a certain albino girl with a split personality in the Tower), and a pair of knee-length shorts. What was visible of his skin was riddled with really nasty scars, as if certain parts of his body were amputated and then sown back together. Anyone who has ever seen anything underneath Shiro's bodysuit can likely immediately see the similarities. ]

I think someone went a little overboard with their powers~✩! Oh well. I guess that's one way to deactivate the Mother Goose System!

[ Wait, how was that even possible? Wasn't the Mother Goose System supposed to prevent something like this from happening? ... Oh well. Barring a sudden apocalypse that happened when he wasn't looking, it was the only conclusion he could reach. Speaking of which... the green-blue haired boy stopped skipping around, and brought that same bloodied hand to his chin, over-exaggerating a ponderous pose. ]

Hmm... she must be here too, in that case. [ His playful tone changes almost instantly. Now, he's carefully scanning the crowd, looking for someone specific. ]

But if you run into her in the gallery floor, you might just manage to catch a different expression on her face, as she fingers a canvas full of carnage with something almost like longing.]

Too bad Ziva didn't put much stock in panicked misunderstandings of an ancient people's day planner (she knew that the Maya were just shaking their heads at all that nonsense) or notes from unknown sources. She preferred solid information.

Unfortunately there didn't seem to be anyone forthcoming with that solid information. She ended up in a cafeteria area, with a bowl of oatmeal shoved into her hands, and directed to a table where she could sit while staring at said oatmeal and pull at the collar she'd woken up wearing and wondering what exactly was going on here.]

In the dorms, elevator, or cafeteria a young girl goes about the task of getting to, and consuming her gross first meal. She looked a little sad and disoriented as she reached up to touch the collar around her neck absently.

When she managed to get her oatmeal and sit down, she ate slowly. It was plain, and not anything she would have chosen to eat, but she had consumed worse during those times she was low on funds. It still didn't make the experience anymore pleasant. Alone in a strange place, thinking all her friends are somehow dead.

But that couldn't be true, right? Kurosaki kun wouldn't have been killed so easily...

[Anderson isn't quite sure what this is.

His last waking thoughts, as crazed in part as they were becoming, had been of his own death at the hands of the vampire. Thinking about it, he has to snort in a mixture of contempt and amusement that the thing that "saved" him from a life as a monster was a monster itself. But Anderson can still remember the feeling of the creature tearing his heart out, the thorned vines that had grown around it trying to keep it attached to his chest.

Perhaps this is Limbo. A place of repentance and cleansing for the mortal sins he had committed in life. But if it were Limbo...why such a human construct? That was common in literature to be sure but it was used as a means for the human mind to grasp and comprehend something it otherwise couldn't. When he died, Anderson had always expected that what would be otherwise esoteric and incomprehensible would be made comprehensible in a different way. As if his awareness would grow at the strength the Lord would provide his mind and soul now that they weren't bound to earthly shackles.

Was the world of the dead truly so similar to that of the living as to not only adopt worldy structures, but be them?

Anderson walked the halls and floors of the Tower before coming across the chapel on the thirteenth floor. That more than anything gave him some reassurance. Some strength, in seeing a constant symbol of his God present whether it should be in a place of judgment or not.

And so Anderson might be found in the chapel, walking among the pews and dragging a hand across them as if to make sure they're clean, inspecting the area.

Occasionally, kneeling in the middle of the aisle in prayer.]

[Lancer's eyes focus back on the letter in his hand and he quickly opens it. After only a few moments, the letter floats onto his bed. Dropped in surprise? Shock? He's not really sure what to call the feeling that tears through his heart. Shock he had felt when he had been betrayed by the master he'd given everything to. Surprise he had felt when he realized, in those final moments, how angry it had made him.

The emotion he feels now that he has been told that his world is dead and he is still alive instead of it being the other way around is something he can't put a name to. Indeed, the need to understand eventually drives him out of his room and into the hallways looking for someone, anyone, who might be able to fill in the gaps for him.]

[Waver has to stop in the middle of the hall when he sees someone familiar. Lancer was helpful during the fight with Caster, but he is instructor Archibald's Servant, who can say how he views Waver, or what kind of orders he may have been given. So he's just going to try to go the other way.]
