From the Pellegri I know. We're from two separate versions of events. The you from my timeline refused to abandon Ormus even when I presented her with indications of their deceit.

You are saying that you're not affiliated with Ormus?

[She looked suspicious. She wasn't sure it was possible for him to see reason and abandon those ideals.]

I haven't been for fifteen years. Not since the final battle of the Miltian Conflict.

Since... The conflict? How?

I tried-- We tried to make you see reason. To make you acknowledge the true face of Ormus. But you would not believe us. Instead you tried to cut us down for standing in your way.

As I said, I discovered indications of their treachery. I learned that Ormus and U-TIC were nothing more than the pawns of some hidden authority.

[Of course, the only way he would have acknowledged the truth is if it had been him who discovered it...]

And what about you? I made my own effort to convince you of the truth, but you simply dismissed me as a traitor to our ideals.

I couldn't stand by as you discarded an entire planet of people as if they were garbage.

*He finally lowers his blade, a look of disgust on his face. He doesn't sheathe his weapon just yet, but he no longer looks as if he expects a fight.*

The more I hear about these alternate versions of myself, the more relieved I am that I abandoned Ormus when I did.

If I still clung to them, would I even consider claiming otherwise over berating you for your own abandonment?

*At that point, he sheathed his own blade. He was still tense, as if something about this conversation itself made him uncomfortable, though.*

You aren't the first in this place to assume I'm affiliated with Ormus. It's becoming an irritating trend among those from our reality and not all of them know me well enough to realize that I would never stoop to claiming to have abandoned a belief I still held.

Then perhaps this disgusting excuse for food won't be the only unpleasant thing to stomach?

[She really hoped she wouldn't have to put up with the same thing. A lot of work and swallowed pride went in to attaining her current affiliation. She had really hoped to live out the rest of her days without so much embarrassment and mistrust.]

It's entirely likely. So far, chaos and Uzuki have been the only people I'm familiar with who have shown willingness to believe my version of events.

Jr. has proven willing to believe some aspects of what I've told him, but I suspect he'll need some form of proof to fully believe that either of us has abandoned U-TIC.

I suppose I should find him soon.

I'm certain you'll run into him soon enough. In the meantime, you should force that pitiful excuse for food down. After that, you'll at least be able to eat what you can procure from the forest.

I'm sure as well, but he has an endearing habit of running into trouble. Then, it is usually my responsibility to extract him.

*That earned a slightly amused chuckle. Because everyone who knows Jr. likes to pick on him a bit.*

While I can't argue with your assessment of his responsibility, you realize you'll have to take time from babysitting to eat that eventually.

[She sighed and retrieved her chair from the floor, then seated herself in front of the bowl again. She felt ill, and eating something so repulsive wasn't going to help that. So she sat, thoughtful and quiet, instead.]

Just keep in mind, there is something more worthwhile than those nutrition bars around once you manage that.
