[Hi Aphrodi! The guy you asked just now happens to be a gray-skinned alien kid. Get used to him; you'll be seeing a lot of those. But he seems fairly helpful, if a bit scattered.]

Oh? Um... well, I suppose you're new? Yes, you must be. Um... the truth of the matter is, no one truly knows. We've been told that our worlds have been destroyed and we are being held in this tower because there's... well, there's nowhere else to go, apparently. No one seems to really know if that's true. We don't really have any other explanation, though.

Would I be correct in assuming it isn't merely the environment that leads itself to this confusion? However, one can expect such a thing, being brought here with nothing more than a note and little explanation. Considering introduction of new stimulus to any individual, their first impulse is to panic rather than study it.

He's mostly cranky, perpetually tired and chronically depressed lately but hey. Die a couple times and you get the hang of it.

He's also standing behind her and staring a bit like a creep. Let him get his bearings, shit just got real here.

And then he snorts and goes drop himself on the couch by her, careful to stare at the screen and not at her, because. Yeah. That'd get creepy, fast.]

[Even if Rhyth's pretty clearly gonna clear Jade's height (and she's not THAT tall to begin with), she nevertheless ducked down and twisted around a bit to watch her skate away. She was pretty sure gravity did not work that way, but then who was she to judge, she was a goddamn time traveler.]

[Aaaand now that she's alone she's kind of...watching where Rhyth disappeared to baffledly, peering over the top of her sunglasses, and wondering what the hell a Netrium was.]

[There's a distinctive snide undertone in that, but he snorts and sort of lets his hands rest on his knees, squinting at the screen to see if he's watched this one before. He hasn't run by all of the selection yet, but he's seen a good deal of it. He shrugs.]

Though I suppose bein' here at least beats bein' wherever we were goin'.

[ Well, a huge red wolf is not on the list of things that Aphrodi ever wanted to meet, but it seems like their paths would cross since he's going down instead of up. Even if he could turn around and walk up instead, the wolf probably would have passed him anyway because of the speeds they are travelling at. Aphrodi doesn't want to run -- it would mess up his hair.

And hey, maybe the wolf is a nice one. He does have a very nice hat, after all.

So he'll just... stand to one side. Even though there's still not much space. ]

[Well, at the very least, the wolf doesn't seem inclined to eat Aphrodi right at this moment for whatever meme induced reason. But there's still not quite enough room for it to pass the boy, not without them bumping into each other.]

It was worth a try squeezing though. ]

[ Gravity works that way when you've SUPER SKATES and trick up a rail! It doesn't even take her all that long to show up again grinding down this time with a pair of skates in her hands. This pair, to be precise.

She stops about five stairs above Jade and jumps off on the landing, then actually rolls down the stairs and stops. So she doesn't, you know, surprise her too badly or knock her over this time. That would be bad. ]

Here we go. These were actually the first pair I ever bought. Netrium-powered batteries, magnetically propelled, the whole deal. They're able to dash pretty well, too, and the wheels are modified to make grinding more stable. Good beginner skates.

If you don't like the colors I can always repaint them, too. I know pink isn't everyone's thing. I was... only a little older than you at the time so I'm pretty sure they'll fit!

[ She's sizing you up. And yeah, she's taken good care of the things. They're in great shape, still working fine, and unlike some people, she washed them frequently, so they didn't stink or anything. Maybe it was nostalgia, but she took as good care of this pair as she did her present ones. ]
