To get you started, here are a few optional prompts for you to use if you so wish:

1.       Cafeteria

Well, top of the mornin’ to y’all in Animus! Guess what day it is? Well, it’s the first day of Jason month and you guys know what that means? The cafeteria will be full of nutrition bars today! Enjoy your absolutely tasteless meals while you can because you’ll be forced to eat these for the whole month.

2.       Shadow Children (Event)

So, the elevator mysteriously exploded! Who, why and how? Well, no matter who is responsible, some creepy shadows are following you around, speaking in the voices of your loved ones from your world and blaming you for their predicament! Unless someone whom you have a strong bond with in the tower drives those shadows away, your collar will gradually go paler and you will die in a few days! What do you guys do? More info found here: http://animus-ooc.dreamwidth.org/396347.html

3. Elevator

Sheesh, it’s a rather long way from the top floor to the cafeteria, isn’t it? About an hour, actually. In the meantime, someone else might be in the elevator with you! Start up a conversation? Ignore each other? Start singing in the elevator? The choice is yours!

4.      Valentine’s Chocolates! (Event)

It’s Ruana month and you have all been infected with a disease by some mysterious teddy bears! Suddenly, you receive a box of chocolates which can temporarily cure your infection but many of them have special side effects. Effects can be seen here: http://animus-ooc.dreamwidth.org/120554.html

5.    Floor 29

This floor has seemed pretty peaceful so far, the maze isn't all that hard and the garden that lies beyond it is rather lovely. Still it seems best to head back now that the sun is about to set and nighttime is approaching fast. ...Is that just the leaves rustling in the wind behind you, or is it something more?

6.       Floor Seventy-Nine

Fancy some deep-sea diving? Grab some scuba gear, hop off the staircase, and explore some ruins! Just be careful you don't run out of air or run into a shark (or run into a shark while you're running low on air). Of course, if you can breathe underwater or just don't need to breathe at all, then the sharks would be your only worry. Try and find some treasure!

7.       Anywhere!

Whoops, you've gotten distracted, or lost, or you're still climbing up the stairs when night falls. It's time for the monsters to start prowling--and one's got its eyes (or whatever sensory organs it may have) on you! Time to fight back, or time to run?

Is that so?

[Any new information is useful information, but there's no thanks. It's just tucked away for later. So long as he got to where he was going, Xemnas didn't particularly care where it stopped, though he needed to explore every floor eventually.

For now that's not happening, not with the elevator still in motion, and while ordinarily he'd be content to let the matter sit and ignore the stranger invading the (his) elevator, she was familiar. And if he hadn't missed his guess, she knew very well who he was. Interesting.]

It seems then we have a little ... time to kill. You look very much like someone I know. Have we met?

[There's something ... not entirely a question in that question. Nor is it precisely friendly. Xemnas' tone is still pleasantly polite, but it's like wrapping a razorblade in silk; it wouldn't take much to draw something very unpleasant from such a veneer of civility.]

[And now he's asking questions. About her in particular, the very last thing she would have wanted. Being able to distract and divert people in situations like these was not something she was very good at. But he was right. There was time to "kill" so to speak. She couldn't just ignore him until the doors opened. Her silence could tell him just as much as words could.]

I... I don't think so.

[She manages to keep her voice mostly steady, even if she can't meet his eyes. Either she doesn't exist yet, or as far as he knows, she never existed. That counts as having not met, right?

It's a feeble defense and she knows it. But she's made a life for herself in the Tower, and she doesn't want Xemnas to be a part of it. Or to get too curious about it, really.]

[The black-clad man shifts only slightly, rolling one shoulder back a little until there's a faint 'pop'. His gaze never leaves Xion in the doing. Those with hearts truly were rarely able to control them. She was no different, the steadiness she struggled for not enough for someone alert to the flickers of the less pleasant spectrum of feeling.]

Isn't it interesting that inevitably, when I ask a question of those who still have their hearts, and I allow them enough rope to hang themselves with or save themselves with, inevitably they tie their own noose?

[Xemnas smiles faintly; there's no doubt the expression is false, and probably does nothing to make him seem friendlier.]

Would you like to try again? Attempts at deception don't suit you. You are betrayed too easily by your own emotions.

[There's the vaguest feeling of being kicked in the gut. Ever since she'd found out what she was and especially after everything that had happened in the Tower Would he have said that if he knew exactly who and what she was? But she can't just tell him that. She doesn't want him poking around in her life at all! But it's clearly too late to avoid catching his interest, and anything she does at this point will only make it worse.

And yet somehow, as those same thoughts are running through her head, there's another feeling, poking her in the back of the mind. This was ridiculous. She was ridiculous. She'd been in the Tower - spoken to Ruana face-to-face, rebelled against Jason even as he had a scalpel to her chest, faced monsters among both the residents and the Tower itself, and suddenly her old superior turned up and she was cowering like a child in the corner?

Ridiculous.

Steeling herself, she looked up, eyes bright and determined and chin set stubbornly]

Maybe once, but it doesn't matter now.

[Pulling her book open, she jammed her nose into it again, trying determinedly to ignore him and stave off any further questions.]

[Even doing nothing will make it worse. There's really no way to avoid that now. Xion had willfully made herself a Mystery, and Xemnas had a very hard time leaving those alone. It's like dangling a string at a kitten, the impulse to poke and prod and try to find out more is simply overwhelming.

As she chooses to tighten her own noose, he simply smiles, an expression that shows the barest edges of teeth. Ingenuine as any other expression is. Her pointless defiance would have amused him once. Now there was nothing, but he knew what the response should be.]

Ah, I see. The bastion of the ignorant and the afraid, to try and fail to hide behind such words as 'it doesn't matter now'. The brave face and the quaking heart hand in hand. You are not one of mine, in this world or another, then. I do not encourage such pointless exercises of stupidity, and mine know better than to try. Suit yourself.

[It seems as if that may be the end of it.

Only a fool would think so for long. Xemnas is a patient man, and he will bide his time. Years, if it took that long; a mystery once found will be unraveled sooner or later. But for now, perhaps Xion will be silly enough to breathe a sigh of relief and think perhaps she'll be left alone. She should know better.

The alternative, knowing he would wait, and work tirelessly to discover what he wanted regardless, might be really unpleasant.]
