1.       Cafeteria

Well, top of the mornin’ to y’all in Animus! Guess what day it is? Well, it’s the first day of Jason month and you guys know what that means? The cafeteria will be full of nutrition bars today! Enjoy your absolutely tasteless meals while you can because you’ll be forced to eat these for the whole month.

 

2.       Shadow Children (Event)

So, the elevator mysteriously exploded! Who, why and how? Well, no matter who is responsible, some creepy shadows are following you around, speaking in the voices of your loved ones from your world and blaming you for their predicament! Unless someone whom you have a strong bond with in the tower drives those shadows away, your collar will gradually go paler and you will die in a few days! What do you guys do? 3. Elevator

Sheesh, it’s a rather long way from the top floor to the cafeteria, isn’t it? About an hour, actually. In the meantime, someone else might be in the elevator with you! Start up a conversation? Ignore each other? Start singing in the elevator? The choice is yours!

4.      Valentine’s Chocolates! (Event)

It’s Ruana month and you have all been infected with a disease by some mysterious teddy bears! Suddenly, you receive a box of chocolates which can temporarily cure your infection but many of them have special side effects. Effects can be seen here: http://animus-ooc.dreamwidth.org/120554.html

 

5.    Floor 29

This floor has seemed pretty peaceful so far, the maze isn't all that hard and the garden that lies beyond it is rather lovely. Still it seems best to head back now that the sun is about to set and nighttime is approaching fast. ...Is that just the leaves rustling in the wind behind you, or is it something more?

 

6.       Floor Seventy-Nine

 

Fancy some deep-sea diving? Grab some scuba gear, hop off the staircase, and explore some ruins! Just be careful you don't run out of air or run into a shark (or run into a shark while you're running low on air). Of course, if you can breathe underwater or just don't need to breathe at all, then the sharks would be your only worry. Try and find some treasure!

 

7.       Anywhere!

 Whoops, you've gotten distracted, or lost, or you're still climbing up the stairs when night falls. It's time for the monsters to start prowling--and one's got its eyes (or whatever sensory organs it may have) on you! Time to fight back, or time to run?

I-- I'm sorry. [ meekly, because sometimes it helps when father's angry at him, and he's not sure what he's done wrong this time. ] I just-- don't have any reason to remember my age.

[ at the question, he shakes his head, dizzy and tired and confused. ] I don't think it's a good idea right now.

[looselips]

Don't apologize!

[He stops, then, and turns back toward Kariya, jabbing a finger toward him.]

Listen, you. Apparently I'm the only Matou here that has some common sense rattling around in his head, or, you know, a spine. That makes me responsible for the rest of you. Got it?

[infesting]

[ his brows draw together, visible gray eye a little overwhelmed. ] You're a Matou? How come I've never seen you? I've lived in the house my whole life.

[looselips]

Because we come from different worlds. [Duh.] I don't know anyone named Kariya Matou, either, but that doesn't stop the other one from insisting that I'm his nephew.

[At this point, Shinji rolls his eyes.]

[infesting]

.. Other one? [ this shinji doesn't make any sense, and kariya's beginning to believe that he should've just stayed where he was and waited for his father. ]

[looselips]

Yeah, the adult one.

[Makes perfect sense.]

[infesting]

There's an adult with my name?

[ his world was very, very small before coming here, after all. it seems strange to think that there are people beyond the walls of his house. ]

[looselips]

No, he is you. You have the same stupid hair and everything.

[infesting]

.. My hair's not stupid. [ he reaches up, tugging the strands a little self-consciously. ] It's just different.

[looselips]

Whatever. Point is, it's not like this is even the first time this has happened. There's this guy named Sephiroth who has an adult version of him running around, too.

[infesting]

[ a long, uncertain pause, curling his hands in his shirt again. ]

.. Magic?

[looselips]

Something like that, I guess. Like I said, we're all taken here from different worlds, if that helps it make sense in your head.

[infesting]

[ no, not really, but maybe it's just because he's still recovering from the basement. he just needs time to sit down and work it out for himself.

instead, he nods cautiously. ]

Okay. Where are we going?

[looselips]

Like I said, you can't just go around barefoot.

[Though, in all honesty, he isn't sure where to find him a pair of shoes.]

[infesting]

[ he glances back down at his feet. ]

.. I was brought from the basement. I guess Father didn't think I needed shoes.

[looselips]

Well, maybe you didn't need shoes when you never went outside, but that's not the case here, is it?

[infesting]

The grass didn't hurt, though. [ still, shinji's obviously been outside, so maybe he knows better. ] .. Where will we find shoes?

[looselips]

Maybe the grass didn't, but that doesn't mean squat about the rest of the floors. Pretty much everything here is trying to kill you, so finding you a pair of shoes isn't going to hurt.

[Shinji doesn't like being asked about where to get shoes, though, seeing as he doesn't know, and he hates admitting that he doesn't know even benign things.]

Somewhere. Now shut your piehole and follow me. [He tugs Kariya's arm a little harder than necessary, but it's not like Shinji is very strong to begin with.]

[infesting]

[ he wants to ask why things here are trying to kill him, and he wants to offer to help, to protect them both-- and he almost does, lips parting to speak. but then shinji tells him to shut up, so he closes his mouth again obediently, hurrying to keep up. (he might be eight or nine or younger or older, he's not sure, but he is small for his age, he knows that. he's pretty sure the crest worms and the demands on his body and energy from his father's attempts to make him a stronger mage are to blame for it.)

what else can he do but follow? at least shinji is technically family, even if maybe they're from other worlds. ]
