Have a number of prompts to get you started:
[Floor 29]: This floor has seemed pretty peaceful so far, the maze isn't all that hard and the garden that lies beyond it is rather lovely. Still it seems best to head back now that the sun is about to set and nighttime is approaching fast. ...Is that just the leaves rustling in the wind behind you, or is it something more?
[Floor 56]: Oh this looks definitely like an useful floor - the room stretches into a hospital ward, dusty and old, a surgical suite surrounded by a maze of empty beds. The closer you look, the more you'll find that the first impression is quite deceiving - no medical supplies of any sort, unstable lights and what was that noise just now?! Clearly you are the only one on this floor. Or are you?
[Floor 25]: After all you have seen so far, this just might be the first truly innocent floor you see. But is it truly as trustworthy as it seems...? Many other people seem to think so at least! Come and see what they are up to?
[Elevators]: It's quite a long ride between the Dormitories and the Cafeteria - it probably doesn't help that the minutes and seconds seem to stretch out more and more towards eternity, what a hassle. Are well, maybe there is someone stuck with you and up to provide conversation... or entertainment~
[Anywhere]: Do you still have track of just where you are after spending your day exploring the Tower of Animus? If not, you might want to ask someone... or just start climbing the stairs regardless of where you are! Nighttime is approaching fast...
[Event]: Just earlier this day you have been called for (and/or brought in to) an unscheduled collar check-up, in which the color of your collar was changed. It takes a few hours, but soon you feel the effects of it, feel lightheaded and dizzy, feel all your power slip out of your control. Or maybe you heavy to the point of breaking down on the spot, while just none of your powers seem to work. Either way... hopefully you are at a safe place or in friendly company... That is, if either of these things exist in this tower.
[Floor 56] | OTA who dares
A noise behind him makes him glance up briefly, but nothing seems to be there... He pays the flickering lights no mind. It's only to be expected, since clearly no one's maintained this area in some time. Right?]
I dare
Jade'll probably hear Asch approaching first - the redhead makes it a point to make his steps loud around certain people, and that includes Jade. Hard to tell when the man's from by looking at him, after all, and there was definitely a point in time when they were enemies.
So here's a redhead, sans tabard, plus a kind of unusual wreath of flowers around the scabbard of his sword, although they're starting to look a little wilted at this point. One bright red poppy loses a petal even as he approaches.]
So, are you the one who was here before?
[Straight to the point, that's Asch for you.]
no subject
Ah, but he should probably address the question he's been asked, before asking any of his own. That would be the polite thing to do, and Asch does have such a temper. It's probably best not to provoke him, especially when it's possible he's become mentally unstable.
Either that, or Jade is hallucinating. That's always an option, too.]
I beg your pardon? ...I haven't been here before at all, as far as I recall.
no subject
Asch doesn't look at all surprised at the answer, just folding his arms and leaning against one of the taller tables. He actually looks relaxed, relatively speaking. Might want to pinch yourself, Jade.]
Lucky you. Welcome to hell.
[You can ask those questions now. Knowing Jade, they'll probably be here for a while.]
no subject
Also, he's supposed to be dead. This is looking more and more like a dream or hallucination. Might as well play along, though, right?]
Death seems to be treating you well. May I assume we'll be here a while, then?
no subject
I haven't died in a couple months, thanks.
[Not since... Well, it's not like Jade needs the details of that, anyway.]
You might as well grab a chair and get comfortable.
no subject
Wherever you're comfortable beginning the explanation, I assure you, I'm all ears.
no subject
It's more accurate to say that we're grabbed from different points of time entirely. Technically, each person is from a different version of their world.
no subject
no subject
No, I burned it.
[Character Development Marches On.]
Most of the people from Auldrant are from different points on the same timeline, except for the Luke that's still here.
[We don't talk about BroLuke.]
no subject
...Who else is here with us?
no subject
[Look Jade you can finally pick Orion's brains isn't that great.]
A few others have come and gone, including a different version of you.
[That's why he asked. People do come back sometimes, or so he's heard.]
Sure as hell dares
That's Anise for you - forever poking her nose where it doesn't belong. She doesn't even have Tokunaga with her (it's broken), but that doesn't keep her from rifling through a few cabinets that looked like they might have contained medicine at one time. The floor's very environment is eerie, though, and she looks up from time to time.
Finally she sees Jade, and she abandons her post at the cabinet to rush at him.]
Colonel! I thought I'd never see you again! [Run while you still can, Jade.] Did you miss cute little ol' me? ❤

[Grand Chokmah seems like so long ago. Anise thinks about that as she turns on her heel and puts both hands on her hips as she stares Jade down. He's mocking her and she can tell, but it's familiar and if he's mocking, it means he hasn't been here long enough for the Tower to have done anything drastic to him. That, at least, is a relief.]
You just got here, right?
no subject
[More seriously, he continues,] I would like a bit more explanation on exactly where 'here' is, though, if you have the time for it.
no subject
[The amusement quickly fades from her expression, and she nods. Anise may joke around a lot, but she knows how to be serious when the situation calls for it. This is a situation that does.]
From what we've been able to figure out so far, this is a tower on a world that isn't Auldrant. Auldrant's been - destroyed... [She looks down for a moment to gather her thoughts before she continues.] ...or at least, that's what they say. They lie about a lot of other things, but... that didn't really feel like a lie. They said this is a rescue mission and that does feel like a lie, though, because they do a lot of really bad things to us. It's dangerous.
...but, you're really good at handling danger, right?
no subject
[He turns away, paces a few steps, walks back, and repeats the process a couple of times while he tries to process this information. If the part where Auldrant is destroyed is truth, then these people are...what? Scavenging the corpses of dead worlds in order to find victims for their experiments?
The irony is palpable.
He stops, and sighs.]
Do we have any method of communicating with anything...outside the tower? [Any way of gathering information that isn't being fed to them by people who clearly don't have their best interests at heart?]
no subject
[Anise couldn't think of many people who were more dangerous than Jade. It made her glad that he didn't see her as one of his enemies; she's not one to be easily frightened, but even she would shiver in fear knowing Jade the Necromancer had it out for her.
At his question, she shakes her head.]
No. They've got communicator screens in the hallways where our rooms are and in the library on the third floor, but as far as I can tell we're only able to talk to other people who are here in the Tower with us. If there are other people out there somewhere... we don't have any way to talk to them.
always taking dare over truth
When he spots that familiar blue uniform out of the corner of his eye, though, he lets himself make an exception. He takes a tentative look around before stepping onto the floor, a careful hand placed on the hilt of his sword.]
Interesting choice of scenery, Colonel. You look pretty curious.
no subject
[And he pauses there, waiting for Guy's response, not ready to make any judgments on the reality or...really anything at all about this situation. It's too far outside his experience, so for right now he's just trying to gather information.]
no subject
[Which is why it's curious that the Colonel would be in here in the first place, rather than just passing it over for something a little more informative. Something fishy this way comes.]
Still, it's surprising to see you in here. Have you been around here long?
