[Floor 8]: Mastering the maze is quite entertaining, isn't it - especially given that the challenge shifts and changes every day anew. But beware... who knows who or what else you might run into...

[Floor 71]: This might be one of the most... unsettling floors you have encountered so far. No floor is meant to be this squishy. Nor are walls meant to look like the innards of... what is this creature even?

[Floor 25]: After all you have seen so far, this just might be the first truly innocent floor you see. But is it truly as trustworthy as it seems...? Many other people seem to think so at least! Come and see what they are up to?

[Floor 54]: An old-fashioned toy shop; who would have thought that something like this existed in a place like the tower! The puppets and dolls are especially well crafted; one might almost think them a person rather than a toy. Surely there is nothing wrong with picking up one of them... or is there?

[Elevators]: It's quite a long ride between the Dormitories and the Cafeteria - it probably doesn't help that the minutes and seconds seem to stretch out more and more towards eternity, what a hassle. Are well, maybe there is someone stuck with you and up to provide conversation... or entertainment~

[Anywhere]: Do you still have track of just where you are after spending your day exploring the Tower of Animus? If not, you might want to ask someone... or just start climbing the stairs regardless of where you are! Nighttime is approaching fast...

[A particular book on the floor has captured his interest. He's currently preoccupied with picking it up. His brow furrows when he examines the cover and flips open the first few pages. Just as to be expected. Absolutely nothing. The book is soon tossed over his shoulder as his attention shifts to another book on a desk.]

[Very appropriate. There is certainly questions of how such a thing is able to be laid out but science is something to be reasoned with. And, well, it doesn't stop him from moving across the bit of rock. The soles of his footwear are not being shown any mercy.]

floor seventy-two.
[This is a complete utter waste of time. That's what he has in common with this floor. Even with keeping a hand to the wall, he isn't going to exactly get out anytime soon. He can easily just sit and wait for a friendly reaper but that would surely take too long. For now, he opts to pull open a door and moves back.]

[He is going up a set of stairs. Forget what time it is, there are other things to attend to. Though he does pause for a moment. No, he lacks the imagination.]

[Another library, huh? Phoenix is looking through the books. On a whim, he's picked up a volume on law and is leafing through it, chuckling to himself.]

[For once, Phoenix looks grave, studying the headstones of the cemetery thoughtfully. He doesn't recognize the names, but it gives him pause, and he frowns. There's a lot about this place he doesn't like.]

[Why did there have to be so many stairs? Because it left her either resting often in the stairway, nursing her right leg, or standing in the elevator for quite some time. This time she favored the elevator, even though it meant her floor selection was limited.

[...This may very well end up one of her more favorite floors. With all of these dolls to play with, Mayu could not help but pick one of them up. Not so much as leave the floor with it, but more like fix the 'make up' on its face as she sat there with it in her lap.

She seems so focused on it... dare you interrupt her?]

[It was so peaceful on this floor. Nothing about it really seemed to be off about it (save maybe her, but we digress). It lent the feeling as though it were perfect for simply resting, like the 17th floor (no, we did not mess up with recalling which floor)... Maybe that's why she sat down quietly on a boulder in the meadow, softly humming.]

[It seems just to be another innocent moment of exploring when she walks around this floor.

As she wanders, for a moment, she may seem to change attire just be taking a limping step forward. Yet as fast as the white kimono and red cord appear, they disappear to her own clothes.

But she'd lost track of Mayu again, and this tower didn't seem much safer than Minakami Village had... if not more dangerous.It's a relief to see the back of her sister's head from between the rows of dolls, even if she isn't fond of their current surroundings. She hurries forward]

[As night approaches, Mirai wanders her way back to the dors, a glowing pink gem in her hand lighting her way. She seems oddly comfortable in the darkness, despite the sounds of monsters on various floors she passes that would enough to creep any normal girl out.]

Ahhh, which way was it again? This tower is so stupidly confusing! There are way too many floors in this place!

These dolls are well made, but they aren't very cute at all!

[This young man might be very familiar to several tower residents--if you don't recognize his face or silver hair, you might recognize the black coat he's wearing.

He's just come to this floor from one of the higher floors--he got into a fight he didn't mean to, and has managed to escape, pausing to catch his breath after running down the stairs, kneeling near the exit in case he needs to flee again.]

[Hopefully you didn't get into the elevator with this guy, because he's not very good conversation. He won't ignore anyone who steps in, likely nodding a greeting, but he won't initiate conversation.]

[The young redhead was no stranger to mazes, having accompanied her good friends Alibaba and Aladdin in dungeons twice before. In fact, that was where she'd just been. Had Aladdin and Alibaba not disappeared and her surroundings not changed, she might have easily considered this simply a part of the dungeon she'd just been in.]

...I wonder if the way out is to beat this maze?

[A short girl with a ridiculous amount of pink hair stands behind Morgiana, trying to move around her without taking her hand off of the wall.]

That's totally wrong! This is the third floor I've been on, so there's no way it's that easy.

[In front of any terminal you like, you can find this girl, looking almost bored as she fiddles with it. Despite being new, she doesn't seem particularly concerned by what's going on around her; her attention goes back and forth between the terminal and the PDA she sometimes pulls out of her jacket pocket.

She turns the keyboard over, looking at the wires, and makes a small tut of a displeased sound. Now how the hell does this thing work?]

[Elevator]

[And after she's done there, it's a long ride in the elevator between floors. Again, the girl doesn't seem interested in whoever is in the elevator with her. Rather, her attention is on what's in her hands - a brightly lit PDA in one, and a somewhat darkened Soul Gem in the other. Her thumb flicks onto the touchscreen of the PDA, pushing a button, but nothing happens.]

[Innards. This tower put them in something's innards. Gangrel should... probably care more, but he's more concerned about keeping his horrendously gaudy cloak out of anything that might stain. He's terribly fond of his cloak and he only arrived with one of them. The squelching doesn't seem to bother him.]

Hmm. This is some sort of... "divine retribution" for the breaking wind comment, isn't it? Heh. Hate to be around when that happens in here, and I'd love to see the army that could withstand it! Hahaha.

[He's sauntering through the maze, turning left at every corner unless forced otherwise. He's muttering idly to himself, and not paying much attention.] I've been a king. I've been a maggot. I've been a dog. But a rat? A rat is new.

It's boring. [And he'll continue whining along this line.]

[Cafeteria]
[This time around, Gangrel's off sulking by himself. He's attempting to make it look like he has nothing to do, with his feet propped up on another table, rather than having no other place to sit. Currently, he's contemplating throwing his food at the least suspecting person he can find—that'd at least break the monotony, right?]

[What Robin hears is someone grumbling. Mother of Naga, why. She's already figured the exit at least - it's as much a brain teaser for her as anything - so she's going to go try and locate whoever's complaining their tail off here.

[The very idea is absurd, but walking onto the floor to see that the water itself floated in mid-air had to be examined closely before Kino can bother believing it. A hand moves out to touch, fingertips barely hitting the water as a huge fish swims by, an eye nearly as big as her head lazily rolling to observe her.

And all she can do is stare back, wide-eyed, breathing out a sound of simple astonishment.]

[It's said out loud, hopefully just to herself. Not that she minded if it crossed others' ears. They were allowed to think what they pleased.

But the fact remained that this spiraling tower claimed to be a savior. Simple in its idea, and yet very difficult to believe - even more so when faced with rows upon rows of gravemarkers. Some remain blank, some are toppled. But many have names. Some, oddly enough, have multiple graves for what seems to be the same person.

[To catch sight of a bird was out of the question - she was too far up, it seems. But there's no light, no trees or smoke or smog or clouds to block the view of the stars. So she stands quiet, out on the glass, eyes connecting the shapes she sees in the stars.]

[To remain still isn't a priority for Kino. Not when there are so many answers to be found and so much of this Tower to be explored. Whether she's going up or down, she always takes the stairs, coat whipping behind her. One may catch sight of the pistol against her hip, or perhaps the larger one strapped to her back. The neutral sense of concentration on her face isn't just for her walk alone. One sniff of a monster, and either weapon will be pulled and shot before a breath can even be taken.]

[A workshop. Hmm. It wouldn't hurt to sit back and tinker around, see what she could come up with...

Maria can be seen gathering any obviously mechanical parts she could find, if she isn't drawing up plans for a new blaster--who knows, she could use it one of these days.]

[Barnaby was in a hurry, and the elevator wasn't moving fast enough. He's not likely to start a conversation on his own, although he could hold one. At the very least, any other passengers wouldn't be ignored.]

[Who or what else indeed. Maybe you're just imagining things, but it seems that something has been following you for some time now. At first, it was just the occasional tap like a footstep, or maybe the sound of metal dragging against the floor, a noise so brief and solitary it could be comfortably written off as imagined. Now, though, the sounds come more frequently, interspersed with eerie laughs and wails.]

[...But, whatever it is, it's done a good job of staying out of sight. Do you ignore it? Do you run? Or, do you try to confront it?]

[Normally, Nue would not be a terribly bad person to share an elevator with. However, normally, an elevator ride is not half an hour in length. It takes all of ten minutes for her to get bored, and then another five for her to get angry.]

Why is this stupid thing taking so long? If you humans in the outside world are so smart, can't you come up with something faster than this?!

[With that question delivered to no one in particular, she lifts a leg and stomps, the heel of her shoe slamming down just below the elevator's button panel. An ancient, powerful youkai, everyone.]

[Phi can be found wandering. She has spare time and she's determined to memorize every inch of this place that she can. Occasionally, a hand drifts up to fiddle with her collar. This isn't the first time Phi's been imprisoned in a dangerous, foreign place with little to no explanation, and her colorful new accessory is far too good of a reminder of that.]

[Or maybe she's found at one of the terminals. Phi knows that if anything could be gleaned from these machines, someone probably would have done so by now; still, she's good with technology, so it can't hurt to try.]

[Floor 81]
[Phi doesn't know what to think about the lounges. They're... a nice gesture, she supposes, but it feels mocking all the same. The young woman is standing in the bulging windows without a hint of fear, staring up at the unfamiliar stars. Oh, and apparently talking to herself, too. In Latin.]

[Quark's wandering around semi-aimlessly, as well. To be honest, he hasn't really gotten to the point of reasoning yet where it seems wise to take in the more mundane details of the Tower in case this is yet another elaborate puzzle that needs solving.

Though he does wonder if this is just an extra level of the Nonary Game, and Zero decided he was bored and changed the rules. All that's really important to him at the moment, anyway, is finding his Grandpa. If this is another game, he's gotta be around here somewhere, right?

But, boy! There's a lot of doors with a looot of names, and none of them he recognizes. The good news is that he does recognize a face, or rather the back of a head, as it comes into view once he turns a corner.]

[He picks up his pace to jog the rest of the way to meet her, sliding on his heels to skid to a stop in front of her.]

[Lambda rarely loses track of time, and now is no exception. Actually, she knows just where she is and just where she's going. She has deemed patrolling the Tower to be a more useful application of her abilities than simply returning to her room in the evening, so patrol she does, robotic armor encasing her body and wing-like blades floating behind her back.]

[Of course, even if she means to help, she's still on guard against unfamiliar people she encounters. So, the way she regards people from behind her mechanical visor is no surprise.]

[Outside of her armor, Lambda nearly appears to be a different person, and one might not make the connection between her two selves if not for her long, distinctive braid. She certainly doesn't seem like something equipped for combat as she studies the dark-haired porcelain doll in her hands, her expression unreadable but somehow vulnerable.]

Target? [Kotetsu puts up his hands. "Target" doesn't sound good, and he hasn't had the best experiences with robots. He laughs, nervously.] Now, don't get the wrong idea... I don't want to start any trouble. Just your average citizen here, going about his day.

[Not that that really counts as "identifying" himself.]

Fayt Leingod | Star Ocean: Till the End of Time

[Fayt had been trying to explore the tower when he'd ended up on the eight floor. He's not quite sure where this maze will lead.... but hopefully, it won't keep him trapped here long.]

[A floor with a workshop is enough to make Fayt linger a while, looking around at everything it had to offer. It didn't exactly look as safe as it could be... then again, nothing about this tower seemed to be.]

[floor 25]
[This was a lot nicer then he thought it would be before getting here. He might cautiously take a seat in the field of flowers after looking around a bit, though.]

[floor 54]
[While the craftsmanship of the dolls in the shop is amazing enough to catch Fayt's eyes for a moment and lead him to wandering the shop, he doesn't stay long. There was something unsettling about the stares of the lifeless, tiny eyes.]

[Floor 73]
[It was just Fayt's luck that he often got caught in cold climates without a coat. he'll be quick to seek out an exit here, too, though he might pause to investigate the ruins a little when curiosity gets to be too much.]

[When he gets tired of the stairs, he'll hop into an elevator. It's a long ride, and he might be up for some conversation, given he gets bored rather easily.]

[This place couldn't be, but felt too real to be false - perhaps some trick of the enemy - though Thranduil had not been aware that the Necromancer's arm was so long. He had enough power to plague Mirkwood, to be sure, but to further imprison him, in illusion or reality-

There was a collar at his neck, largely hidden by his hair, but he could feel it around his throat, and did not care for the sensation. He did not care for this place and the odd mechanics of it. To be so disconnected from the trees....]

[Walking along the hall, quiet and used to the tower after a year of being there, Legolas came. He had his long knives with him and a sword, freshly sharpened in case he should run into another pack of Uruk-Hai. Around his neck was a similar collar, green fluid flowing through it and much more easy to spot than Thranduil's own due to the much shorter hair cut he was sporting. He glanced towards the king and his eyes focus, brows furrowing.]

[While he usually doesn't spend a terrible amount of time on this floor, there are occasions where he pauses to admire the sight. No matter how strange a sight it is. Today was no different, the younger elf stopping by the lake to glance down to the floor below. He was about to turn to the stairs and move on when something he saw stopped him in his tracks.

[Tear's decided to leave her rooms and check out this tower from the bottom up. Too bad it takes forever in this elevator that reminds her of the Tower of Rem.

[Tear stands amongst the flowers, looking off into the distance, her face unreadable as she thinks about the many times she stood in other flower beds. If you're quiet, you might hear her singing the Grand Fonic Hymn. If you're brave, you might interrupt her.]

[Tear peeks her head into the toy shop, blushing and cooing at all the cuteness. She sees a particularly adorable plush toy, a mixture between a rabbit and a cat in brown.]

[So most people probably find this floor unsettling. Not that Link doesn't, but to be honest? It's not the weirdest thing he's ever seen. Granted, stairs going through what look to be the innards of some giant creature isn't something he's ever had to deal with before, but he has to assume that getting to the next floor will get him to something less... squishy.

Ugh, better be careful not to get any of that on his pants.]

[It's a very displeased Fon Master Guardian who's wandering through the maze. Really. Very. In fact, her expression just gets darker and darker until finally she pulls Tokunaga off her back.]

That's it! This maze is going down!

[Tokunaga grows to full size and Anise hops up onto its back. No, Anise, trying to bash through the maze's walls won't work.]

[Elevators]
[Anise is pacing. Back and forth, back and forth. She got on the elevators at the dormitory levels, but is it just her or do they seem slow?

Maybe she's just impatient. She's only been on for a few minutes now. Still, she's pretty sure that it's slowing down.

Sure enough, the elevator comes to a stop and the doors open; Anise doesn't walk out, because she's trying to go to the bottom and this clearly isn't it. Instead, she just looks curiously at whoever is coming into the elevator to join her.]

[Anywhere else - you pick!]
[The pigtailed girl isn't one to sit still, so it won't be too strange to see her around the tower. Chances are she's doing something dangerous, or making faces at her food in the cafeteria, or something along those lines. Care to say hi?]
