✭ Seriously, do it.
To get you started, here are a few optional prompts for you to use if you so wish:
1. [Setting: Elevators] Did you know it takes a half hour to get from the top of the dorms down to the cafeteria by elevator? Well you're finding out now! Strike up a conversation with the others stuck in there with you! Maybe play I Spy or something.
2. [Setting: Floor Eighty-Six] What's with all the mushrooms? And why are they in circles? That's weird--but maybe the mushrooms are edible? On the other hand, maybe you know exactly what these are--and you should really stop that idiot who's going to jump right in the middle of one of the fairy rings before he gets everyone on the floor turned to jell-o or something.
3. [Setting: Floor Seventy-Nine] Fancy some deep-sea diving? Grab some scuba gear, hop off the staircase, and explore some ruins! Just be careful you don't run out of air or run into a shark (or run into a shark while you're running low on air). Of course, if you can breathe underwater or just don't need to breathe at all, then the sharks would be your only worry. Try and find some treasure!
4. [Setting: Floor Fifty-Nine] Is this a torture chamber? Yes it is. Maybe you want to get out of here as soon as possible or maybe this floor really speaks to you. Maybe you want to give that iron maiden try on the first person who happens to wander by! On the other hand, maybe you got a bit too close to something and are about to take a spin in the racks yourself. Hopefully someone will come help you.
5. [Setting: Floor Thirty-Three] There's farmland on this floating island, and anything you can grow yourself is bound to be more reliable quality-wise than the cafeteria food. Of course, the recent odd storms have made a mess of this floor. Get to cleaning it up and then get to growing something!
6. [Setting: Floor Two] It's time for your first collar checkup! Go wait in the waiting room for your turn--maybe strike up a conversation and find out what this is all about! Or try to fight the worker units when they call for you, not that fighting them ever ends well.
7. [Setting: Anywhere] Whoops, you've gotten distracted, or lost, or you're still climbing up the stairs when night falls. It's time for the monsters to start prowling--and one's got its eyes (or whatever sensory organs it may have) on you! Time to fight back, or time to run?

7-Have a Not! Brother (Late and I maybe a little slow because of my plot, but... :-) )
It is only then that he really looks at the girl he has just saved.
And does a double take.]
W-Waver?
[Since when had the younger magus started...cross-dressing?]
Is he ready for this.... (NP! :3)
I knew you'd save me! I knew it! You promised to be my knight and you never ever break your promises!
[Unless Waver's voice has gone up in pitch, there's no cross-dressing here, good sir.]
Not in the slightest.... :-D
A female Waver. One who knows him.
Oh...]
Waver...
[He should put her down, but for some reason he can't. In fact, his hands unconsciously tighten around her. If he's guessing right then this Waver is from a world similar to the one that Sola-Ui had come from.
And that makes her his sister in a weird universe crossing, alternate worlds, second magic be damned sort of way.]
Please don't cry, My Lady. If I promised to protect you, then I always will. I don't break promises.
[Even if the promise in question is one he didn't actually make...]
Poor Lancer, no idea what he's getting into...
Something's different.
[She acknowledges the conclusion she's come to with a calm, if slightly confused expression, but even then the trust radiating from the girl doesn't falter. For all that he's different somehow, he's still familiar. He's still Derry, and she's still safer than anyone else in the world while being held by him.]
Story of his life...
[Diarmuid carefully sets the girl on her feet, before crouching down to bring himself closer to her eye level. He hates talking down at people. Especially about something so important.]
As much as I may look like him, I am not your brother. If what I have been told is correct, it might be easiest to explain things this way. Your brother was named after a hero, wasn't he?
[Diarmuid shifts his couch into a kneeling position and bows respectfully to her.]
I am that hero. My name is Diarmuid Ua Duibhne, First Warrior of the Fianna. It is my honor to meet you. Your mother has spoken highly of you.
It will get better! ...Maybe.
[Oh, she's rambling on like a geek. Waver blushes and tries to find something to do with her hands that can't be confused for flailing because why would she be flailing that's just silly!!!!]
--Sorry. I mean, I really should have realised something was amiss when you didn't trip on the stairs or smell like that awful aftershave he's been wearing lately--
[No, no, that's no good either. She just has to breathe, and focus, and not cry because he looks like her missing brother, only with the addition of far too many worries--]
...You said my mum is here?
He's a Lancer. No, it won't...
A sharp, short burst of anger flashes across his eyes. Somehow now Sola-Ui's unwillingness to fight for her son makes him even angrier than it had before. What right does she have to doom him to yet another loveless marriage?
He calms himself quickly, though, not wanting Waver to think he is mad at her.]
She is. I saved her from a monster not too long ago and that is when she told me about the world you two come from. It is very...different from my own and it feels even more so after hearing you speak. Would you like me to see you to her room? I don't know if she will actually be there, but at least then you will know where it is.
Good point. It will get worse.
I would appreciate it, but if you're angry with me, you don't have to.
Pretty much, yes.
No, it's not you at all! I'm sorry...
[He turns away a moment, taking a deep breath to focus himself, before turning back.]
Your mother and I had a...disagreement about how some things work on your world and finding out that your brother is not just a namesake, but the actual soul just made me that much angrier about her decisions. However, I'm not from your world. I guess I really have no right to judge the way you do things.
[That doesn't mean that he won't still be angry, though.]
no subject
[Given that her mum is... well, her mum, Waver can make an easy guess as to what he's talking about. In contrast to her mother, her attitude is very... flippant. She even waves it off with a hand, she considers it so unimportant.]
Mum just says that because she and papa have convinced themselves I'll "grow out of" my dislike for traditionalist views. But Derry's future is not her decision, and it's not Papa's; it's mine. He'll do whatever he damn well likes with it, because I said so.

I am glad to hear you say that, Waver. I will admit, that is what I argued with your mother about. You know my history and the idea of him having to roll over and accept another loveless marriage just because of an accident of birth upset me a great deal. And that your mother was too afraid to fight for him--to give him the chance she never had...
[He shakes his head.]
I don't know if your mother will approve, but there is another version of you in the tower. Two actually, but one of them in specific that I would very much like you to meet. I think you and he will get along well. Once he gets over the shock of seeing his face on a girl's body that is.
