How's My Driving?
1) Comment to this post with a list of your characters! This meme, by the way, is voluntary but recommended.
2) Give and receive constructive criticism! We'll be watching and we will intervene if flames are being thrown about. Additionally, this is for commenting on the characters, and not the people playing them.
3) This meme is more for concrit than compliments--there will be a compliments meme for straight-out love, don't worry.

While there are different colors of materia, the colors correspond to type rather than spell. Green materia is magic, yellow is command, blue is support, magenta is augmenting materia, and red is summon materia.
The Black Materia is a special case- even someone who would use materia on a regular basis would probably not recognize it as a materia unless they know specifically about the Black Materia legend because of the color; there is only one, it's large like a small ball rather than a marble, and of a dark or black color which doesn't occur in natural materia as far as we've seen in canon. Regular materia is slightly translucent and glows green; the Black materia is opaque and when activated glows with a dark energy.
I hope this helps.
There is one small note I think may be of use to you, though, about the library and the books in it. I don't think the library has books from the character's worlds? It may have changed but taken from the setting page it reads "There are books on a wide variety of subjects, from cooking to mechanics to fiction, but nothing on the history of the tower or the world it's in, and nothing about any other worlds other characters may have originated from."

And thanks for that note! It is of use to me, and I'll keep it in mind for the future! Again, thank you for pointing this all out! It really does help.

What helps me when I'm writing about the floor settings is I keep a tab open with the settings page and look for the floor so I can get the description right. Sometimes I use the gameplay page because there's a few things listed there that aren't on the settings.
And yeah, notes really do help. I keep a detailed thread tracker post with dates and descriptions if I need to reference something my characters know.

And yeah..I keep meaning to make notes, but I haven't yet. I really should soon though..it'll make remembering and keeping track of everything easier.
