1. [Setting: Elevators] Did you know it takes a half hour to get from the top of the dorms down to the cafeteria by elevator? Well you're finding out now! Strike up a conversation with the others stuck in there with you! Maybe play I Spy or something.

2. [Setting: Floor Eighty-Six] What's with all the mushrooms? And why are they in circles? That's weird--but maybe the mushrooms are edible? On the other hand, maybe you know exactly what these are--and you should really stop that idiot who's going to jump right in the middle of one of the fairy rings before he gets everyone on the floor turned to jell-o or something.

3. [Setting: Floor Seventy-Nine] Fancy some deep-sea diving? Grab some scuba gear, hop off the staircase, and explore some ruins! Just be careful you don't run out of air or run into a shark (or run into a shark while you're running low on air). Of course, if you can breathe underwater or just don't need to breathe at all, then the sharks would be your only worry. Try and find some treasure!

4. [Setting: Floor Fifty-Nine] Is this a torture chamber? Yes it is. Maybe you want to get out of here as soon as possible or maybe this floor really speaks to you. Maybe you want to give that iron maiden try on the first person who happens to wander by! On the other hand, maybe you got a bit too close to something and are about to take a spin in the racks yourself. Hopefully someone will come help you.

5. [Setting: Floor Thirty-Three] There's farmland on this floating island, and anything you can grow yourself is bound to be more reliable quality-wise than the cafeteria food. Of course, the recent odd storms have made a mess of this floor. Get to cleaning it up and then get to growing something!

6. [Setting: Floor Two] It's time for your first collar checkup! Go wait in the waiting room for your turn--maybe strike up a conversation and find out what this is all about! Or try to fight the worker units when they call for you, not that fighting them ever ends well.

7. [Setting: Anywhere] Whoops, you've gotten distracted, or lost, or you're still climbing up the stairs when night falls. It's time for the monsters to start prowling--and one's got its eyes (or whatever sensory organs it may have) on you! Time to fight back, or time to run?

Don't be sorry. This is all a lot to take in.

[She tries to smile, but she can't quite do it. No matter how much time passes and how many more people arrive here, explaining that their worlds have been destroyed and that they're stuck in the Tower for the foreseeable future never gets any easier.]

Honestly, it's fine if you throw a tantrum. It's not the most unhealthy way of coping with this that I've seen. And I've been here for... [She stops to think about it.] ...this is my sixth month, now. I've seen a lot of people come and go.

[At least he wasn't going on a murder spree, after all. And she definitely couldn't judge if he got upset - she certainly had. She still was upset, some days, when she didn't force herself to focus on the fact that they had less than a year to figure everything else out.

...maybe she should tell him about that, but it seems unfair to spring that on him when he's just arrived and is trying to adjust to all of this.]

Miss Sheba... I want to do something more worthwhile, I think.

[He isn't sure what that is though and she sounds kind of unsure as well. So he has to do somethings for himself and not be spoon fed. Something to do, something to do. He pushes the letters into his pocket for the time being.

It's then he opens his mouth to say something else, only to pause. He doesn't change direction of which he is facing, only closing his legs together as best as he can. This hasn't ever actually really occurred to him with all that fuss he had been making before.]

Um, where can I find a bathroom?

[Sheba has to do a double-take at that. For something that started with wanting to do something worthwhile, they've strayed from the topic somewhat, she thinks. But hey, nature calls...

She takes a few steps up the stairs and then turns back.]

The bathrooms are on the dormitory floors, up near the top. Follow me - or, the sound of my voice, I guess... [She hesitates, then holds out her hand.] Or I could lead you.

[It's been a few hours since he has woken up and maybe he hasn't eaten anything lately but... it's been a while! Who knows how long he has been asleep for, anyway. Maybe he's actually kind of hungry as well. Having to survive is fundamental to getting out though with how she's been talking...

Once Sheba begins to move up the stairs, Emil is quick to follow. He only pauses when he is unable to hear the girl moving forward. Emil lifts his head slightly as something does feel pretty close but he doesn't make any move to extend his own hand.]

I can follow you just fine like this. Thank you.

[She nods, and then remembers again that he's blindfolded and she actually has to speak.] Alright - this way, then...

[She starts walking again. Thankfully, he hadn't come down too far from the dorms, so they probably wouldn't be running into any monsters. ...probably.

It's not too long before they arrive in the residential areas. Once they're off the stairs and in a hallway, Sheba makes her way towards the nearest men's bathroom.] It's right over here!

[Emil follows fairly closely behind, never threatening to get lost along the way. He takes note of it being relatively quiet even with the implication that there are a good amount of people here. The case being it's evening, possibly...?

With arriving to their landing, Emil moves somewhat closer to the wall to press his hand against it.]

Thank you, again, Sheba. I need to remember this for next time... I suppose with all the stairs I've been on I can't say I know which floor this is. But, sorry--

[He's going to have to go in there and do his business. That is, try to find his way in there and then do his business.]

You're welcome. [She smiles easily. Sheba is glad that she's been able to be somewhat useful in helping Emil get acquainted with the Tower; being in a strange place is hard enough without people to help you.]

There are bathrooms on all of the residential floors - there's five of them, and they're all at the top of the Tower. But there's more than a hundred floors not including them, so... [It might be hard for him to keep track.

Anyway, while he heads in there to do his business, she'll just stand outside in the hall and wait. She's not going to just leave someone who can't see, after all. Once he's done his business, she'll be out there waiting for him.]

[Too many questions and not enough time for them. As much as he wants to ask about the many floors of the tower he has to take a leak. Just, he's going to be quick as possible though it does include bumping into something before finding the appropriate place to do business which isn't going to be detailed because this isn't Ariel.

He eventually does come back after washing his hands and feels a little more at eased. His brain does work better at this rate which allows the time to dwell on the whole being trapped in a Tower with bathrooms only at the top of the Tower.

...Wait.]

Sheba...?

Yes?

[She looks over when he emerges from the bathroom. It sounds like he has another question, which she's not surprised by. Most people are full of questions when they get here. She's just glad he's handling this well.

...better than most, even if he did have to be shown to the bathrooms.]

[Sorry, it's just a thing.]

Oh, you're still here.

[He pauses.]

I mean, not that I wouldn't want you to be. I just thought you would have went back to where you were staying by now. You didn't have to wait out here for me.

[And he realizes he only sounds ruder by the sentence. Ah, no, that--]

[Sheba can't help but giggle. She's not laughing at him to be mean, but the amount of surprise in his voice when he realizes she hasn't run off is pretty entertaining. She pushes off from the wall and walks over to him.]

It's alright. I wasn't really doing a whole lot today, and staying here to help is better than just going back to my room.

[...which makes her wonder how he's going to find his room. The residents' names are written outside the doors, but with his blindfold, he's not going to be able to see them.]

Did you have any questions about other things in the Tower?

[He almost smiles as he brings a hand over the pocket with the letters in it. That's right, there are serious things at hand.]

Are there any sort of maps available, Sheba? I think you mentioned this place being very big. Or anything written, really.

[There are so many questions but he's feeling a little doubtful that he can actually receive answers to all of them. The big one is as to wonder why there are so many floors to begin with. To house all the people? This inter monologue isn't going to do any good, though.]

[Sheba has to stop to think about it, because she's never actually seen a map for the Tower. That seems sort of strange to her, come to think of it - but then, she'd only really ever used world maps before. But here...]

I think someone was talking about making a map of this place... but I don't know if they ever actually finished it.

[She can understand why. It's a huge place - which means it would be a huge job. When he asks about things that are written, though, she brightens up.]

Oh! There's a network system. There are terminals for it on these floors and in the library down on the third floor - here, I'll show you! [And she takes off down the hall for the nearest terminal, which isn't that far, all things considered.] Over here!
