So! Rumor has it event is coming up! You guys know the drill! Time for the obligatory plotting post~! What are your plans for the event? What rumors do you plan on having your characters carve? Is your character just going to point and gawk? What sort of things would you like to get out of the event?

The only rumors I currently plan on having Saber of White carve is "Archer will always be Rin Matou's Knight" and "Shirou will not be slain." I might do others, but her theme will be rumors meant to help people. If I make up one that doesn't involve others by name I wouldn't mind it being defaced somehow. If anything, I'd like that to happen. ^_^

I've left Colette out of the sign-ups because she died last month. I've signed up Edgeworth though.

I'm open to most things, I guess? Except...

1. Anything sexual.
2. I don't want any rumours about him killing anyone either. For fifteen years this guy thought he committed manslaughter on his dad and eventually confessed to it (but was proven wrong). POINT BEING? I don't know if him actually managing to kill someone would break him badly to the point of no return.
3. Nothing I've mentioned on the squick page either.

I just apped in Morgiana so I didn't sign her up. I did sign up Yata((shortstature) and Accelerator (vectorchange) though! I'm alright with anything. I actually want to plot something with someone, whether it be a rumor about my character or my character participating in yours. No sexual stuff please but other than that, I'm cool with anything

I'm still debating on signing up Hakumen, Hei, and Yusuke for this since I don't really have any plans for this event. A part of me does want to see something for Hei or Hakumen to be hunted down because there was a rumor of being a traitor or obeying some evil force though. Not sure what else to do, so I am open.

I signed Sephiroth up just in case anyone would want to start a rumor about him but IDEK what rumors there could be to start! LOL

I'm just probably going to run off the side-effects of whatever gets believed enough to come true though as he's not exactly the rumor starting type. Unless there were a particularly vicious one about him and he knew already that rumors can come true!

I have signed up Ganondorf, Big Boss and Data to all be affected by the event. Gandalf will not be affected but should take part in the event by investigating the rumors, meanwhile Doc Brown will probably get a free pass out of the event.

First off, Gandalf will be investigating the rumor phenomenon and see if anything good can come from it, all while trying to keep the bad rumors in check. He may try to make a listing of the on-going rumors and will actively try to prevent their propagation if they're bad rumors, so he will need assistance and all the help is welcome.

Ganondorf, Data and Big Boss are all three affected by rumors as said before. Ganondorf may start rumor if that advantages him, and probably will for that matter. Data and Big Boss should not start any rumors and will only suffer their consequences. I know there's been rumor of a rumor stating Ganondorf has finally become the ruler of the tower but I don't know yet if that'll happen or how it'll go if it does.

I have no real plans for the three of them yet, so I'm cool with ideas and plottings!

As soon as A'kin figures out that not all residents are being affected equally, he'll be seeking out nonbelievers to help track and control rumor propagation- he and Gandalf ought to get in touch with each other at some point during this event and pool resources and information.

...if the daemon thing isn't too much of an issue for him, anyway.

Totally! I plan on posting a Gandalf open log (I'm long overdue for one) by the start of event where he will be investigating the writings curved into the walls, amongst other things, so they shouldn't have any difficulties getting in touch.

In fact I think at some point a good idea would be for all the "sane" characters willing to investigate the matter to get together in some sort of Rumor Control Team (probably can get a better name).

Sure thing! The Rumor Control should be open to all characters unaffected by the rumors if that happens.

A'kin will be doing his best not to flip out and kill people. If worse comes to worse, he may even resort to geassing himself to keep the rumors from affecting his behavior too disastrously.

Still looking for members for the rumor-busting squad? I'd like to volunteer Kain, if I could. He's pretty mobile and gets around the tower fairly well, and he's got a personal interest in making sure bad things don't happen to folk.

He hasn't met Gandalf yet, alas... maybe they can run into each other once the event starts up?

I sure am still looking, and Kain would work well for the rumor team. The way I see it, I will have a Gandalf open post by the event start, they can meet then if necessary or before the event, whatever ways work best.

Emilia's affected. She's going to do her best to ignore all of the rumours until she realises any on her are having a direct effect. She'll end up with a nice scar from where she attempts to correct it.

In general I'd really like to see the environment altering ones come to life. The ones that make the air hard to breathe in places, the ones that cause the shadows under the bed to take ominous life, the ones that cause the trunks to rattle at night. It'd make for a really fun, creepy atmosphere.

I really want to kick-start Link's involvement in general at Animus I totally missed the last event soooo

Link will be affected by the rumors, but I don't really have any plans for him yet! I wouldn't mind this being a chance for him to really gain some new CR with characters from other canons, though. (Don't take that the wrong way, LoZmates, this could be wonderfully terrible >:D)

Other than that? I'm OTA as far as rumors regarding Link and whatnot. Feel free to bounce ideas with me!

I've signed up all three of mine. No specific plans except to have Rei run around trying to investigate the rumors that she doesn't immediately believe and Sola-ui being scandalized about the rumors cropping up about her.

I've signed up Kariya Matou (this account) and kid Sephiroth (pinnaculum). I'm fine with any kind of rumor, except for sexual violence or hurting kids where Kariya's concerned, or anything sexual where Sephiroth is concerned, obviously.

Kariya would be willing to change rumors, once he realized it could be done. He would try to change them into something less harmful. I confess, I really would like Kariya to change a rumor, if possible. He'll probably write something simple and sappy like "Rin is a good person" or "Sakura is happy", because that's how he rolls.

I'm fine with either Kariya or Sephiroth being affected by rumors and am open to almost anything, if anyone wants to plot with them.

I've signed up Archer/Gilgamesh, so he'll be affected by rumors and may make rumors if he feels particularly creative. I can't think of any restrictions on the rumors; just run something by me if you think the potential rumor's a little severe. He's fairly easygoing until he gets ticked off, at which point things ... uh, tend to get killed/destroyed.

Ideas are always great. Gilgamesh is great for violence, darker things, humor, shipteasing... Pretty flexible guy.

I haven't quite gotten around to posting his return from his dead world just yet, but A'kin's canon is extremely heavy on the power of belief so there's no way he's going to sit this one out.

I don't have anything in particular in mind for rumor-carving yet, but he's going to very quickly figure out what's going on and try to play damage control and/or find some way of harnessing it. He'll be especially interested in acquiring the services of unaffected characters to help him gather information and minimize traffic to the areas with the most hazardous rumors.

...And if my question about indirect exposure gets a 'yes' response from the mods, I'd like to culminate with A'kin and whoever he's allied himself with using the network to deliberately mass-propagate some sort of dramatically positive rumor.


..And if anyone starts up any rumors about demons, he won't be affected no matter how strongly it manifests- in D&D, that term refers exclusively to a completely different kind of fiend.

Stark here, and I do plan to participate in this event-- just not have Barnaby affected by the rumors. It would mess him up badly at this point, and playing straight man to all of this would be enough to weird him out.

However, finding another 'sane' person would be awesome, and he'd be willing to help. This isn't quite like coming back into the game, after all.

I signed up Satsuki and Rin both for this event. Flandre will not be participating in it, but might play around with people if she can.

It's really funny to have signed up Satsuki for this alright. While she has SOME EXPERIENCE with the concept, she's likely to believe a lot of things. Poor girl.

Rin, on the other hand, is skeptical. Once she finds out that the rumors can be changed by getting them carved into her body, she'll likely work to change any she doesn't necessarily agree with.

Considering she's Rin, that's probably going to be a lot (in her mind). :P

Sayaka and Klara are both signed up and under rumor effects! Sayaka's already enchanted with vandalizing the tower, so she'll be carving a few things in (most definitely one of those is gonna be "Sayaka was here, Jason is a loser" and basically stupid stuff) and would most definitely participate in an edit war.

Klara, meanwhile... man I honestly don't know she's capricious as heck. I don't have anything planned for her to rumor-ify at the moment.

Shinji and Claudia will be participating in this event! Nue will not be, but if I decide to intro her before it starts, I'm down with her reacting to whatever weirdness she picks up on while it goes on.

Shinji might try to change or add a rumor at some point, just because he's a terrible child, bbbbut this will PROBABLY be a one time only thing, seeing as he will not be keen on the whole "carved into his own body" aspect! If anyone wants him to write something RUDE about their character, let me know. I'm okay with rumors about him being written, though obviously anything sexual is off limits, and I... I guess otherwise you can just ask if you worry it's TOO TERRIBLE or something? I can't really think of anything else I explicitly don't want.

Claudia I've got nothing for. I don't know if she would write anything herself, except maybe to get rid of something MALICIOUS said about someone she likes, buuut I'm down with her both believing rumors and being the subject of them! Again, I can't really think of anything I specifically don't want, so just ask if you're unsure.

All six of my kids (Romeo, Shion, Suzaku, Samwise, Nesir and Taiki) are up for this event. The only limits are keeping things age appropriate for the little ones.

Romeo might start some good rumours, and try and help people through them. I'd be happy for this to turn on it's head and be awful sob

Nesir on the other hand will be trying to cause as much chaos as possible. She is potentially going to start a rumour about Ganondorf being the true king of animus and I am up for rumour wars resulting from this.

But if anyone wants anything hurtful or stupid written about their characters and she knows them (especially if she doesn't like them) I'd be up for that.
