RL issues aside, my tag speed has been absolutely horrendous, but I'd like reminders and advice on how to fix this.

If you use an email to see tags, get an external client hooked up through POP/IMAP and have it check every minute or so. If you knowing when tags exist is the problem, that could be something you try.

Alternatively, if you're having issues with keeping up, try and set aside an hour or two for unwinding and tagging. Even if an hour a day is kind of slow, it'd hopefully be better then your current speed. Setting aside time like that explicitly for RP, and then going with that schedule, can speed up tags quite a bit.

I find that Zelda is difficult to make plans with. I've made a couple attempts both in character and out to try to get something started but you've brushed them off. I don't know if this is because of the position Zelda's in or if you're just not open for anyone beyond the clique she's in. I'm not going to bother in the future but thought you should know.
