[He knows this guy, but he doesn't. Sure looks like Reno as far as his patchy memories of the red-headed Turk go]

[What he talks about is just further confusing. What ruins? Did he mean Midgar - he hasn't been wandering anywhere recently, except this place that he's found himself. And Zack; there's a name with an even foggier memory. Sephiroth shakes his head; there's too much going on right now to ponder on that as well. Watching Reno lean back on his chair, aware of how easily he could fall back off it, almost willing him to do so.]

So they saved you too. Hmph.

[They. Her. Mother? Did it matter who picked who or why? Of course so, but how to get to the bottom of this.]

"Is that a trick question?" [Small smile, though not amused. Surely meant to try his patience, to relive the failure of his last trial.]

What's the last thing you remember? This place they got here... people disappear and then come back different.

[Resisting the tempatation to push against the table and make Reno fall back off the chair. Instead he takes small bites out of the latest spoonful of oatmeal]

"There was a battle. It didn't exactly go to plan but that doesn't matter. The Planet must have taken enough, so the battle lost but the war won. What I don't get, is why you're here."

Hey, don't ask me- ask the assholes in charge of this place.

[Reno started absently drumming his fingers against the chair.]

[Thinking hard about that. He didn't remember Sephiroth ever losing any battles...

[Funny how Reno didn't think to ask said assholes himself before now. It is most definitely one of his priorities to find out where he is and what the deal is if he can't discover this on his own by wandering around the corridors & exploring rooms.]

[Zack. That name again, Reno must have been fairly close to this guy. Sephiroth tries to search his limited memory of Reno in order to recall this mystery person but it draws a blank; not that he's bothered particulary - he knowingly got rid of a lot of trash. The alternative would have been anhiliation.

Even so the name swims in the foreground of his thoughts as if laughing at him; he knows this name but can't place it. After a few seconds he rests the spoon in the oatmeal bowl and looks back up at Reno]

Tell me why I should be curious?

Everything Reno suspected was confirmed in that one question. Suddenly, all his hairs were standing on end, but he felt oddly calm. If this was post-Nibelhelm Sephiroth, he had to be careful.]

[Cue one raised silver eyebrow. Talk about confusing, it's almost as if Reno's gotten him mixed up with someone else. But how could that be possible it's not like his appearance was mistakable for anyone else.

Trying to recall anything about working with someone called Zack just isn't forthcoming, in fact it's starting to inflict a pinprick of a headache. Whether this is from the hole in his memory or the fact he's trying too hard to remember is impossible to discern. He does however, recall he did work for ShinRa - the Nibelheim incident is the root of his retained memories concerning Cloud.]

When? [Tone is a little darker now, he knows there were two fights that day; there was a black-haired SOLDIER and then there was Cloud. Could that have been this Zack?]
