Very intriguing. I can understand why you would call them children even though they did not give birth to them through traditional means.

That is correct. Technically, it makes him the mother of your children. Hence it makes you their father.

However, based purely on a gender analysis, you remain the mother and he remains the father. Yet again, it is possible for you both to be mothers of these children.
