Not my...
[ But then his mind drifts back to a conversation he had with a young troll named Aradia the first day in. She was gone now but gave him a nice little lecture about just who the Tower brought in, one of those being people from other universes. Thus seeing doubles or triples of one person wasn't at all a rarity. Somehow, seeing it for himself was something else though. Not his Sutcliffe meaning he hadn't gone absolutely barmy and this was probably the case right now. ]
Cor, I get it now! Are you new, then? Just come in?
[ Because he's... not entirely sure how to address the situation. ]

[She shrugs-all she needed was to find the edges and walk through them again. Her arrival being explained as a new person helped her not have to explain as much.]

[ But he glances over. ]
What's the difference with your world then? I mean, if you're not my Sutcliffe and all that.
no subject
[Ah, the difference...She grins, already flicking through her memories.]
Sure you want to know? It's quite a long story. We might need to sit down first.

[ And folding his arms behind his back as he considers this. ]
I've prolly got a bit of time to spare. Let's hear it then!
[ Besides, if Grell asks where he's been, he can always say he was talking to her. ]

[But she nods and begins. While she talks, she leads the both of them down the staircase enough to get to the fourth floor, where he might sit and she can fling herself onto one of the sofas to lie on it.]
A little over three years ago, I was brought out of my realm and deposited in another one. Imagine a giant glass globe, divided into five sections crossways, with an equally giant Tree growing through it all. This itself could make for an adventure, but to complicate matters, I lost my memory, absolutely all of it. One dream was left, and with the knowledge I'd lost everything, I had to make a new life while trying to get the memories back. [Here she laughs.] The place had a morbid sense of humour, so I stopped actively trying to find my own and just let them come to me, which a few did over time. All sorts of things happened, from the ridiculous to the simply odd, but for a while? It was pleasant. I had my friends, had my brother, got confused over loads of things, and it was a life.
Until, of course, some great being decided that we can't have the population getting complacent, and damn near torched the place. And I mean it-so much burned, so many died and came back, so many didn't. Of course we recovered, but that was kind of the turning point. Got more involved in trying to figure out what was going on, died once, gained a roommate and friend you wouldn't believe me for if I told you his name, and kept on with my various jobs in the meantime. Some were lost, too...[here she looks pensive, remembering all those she had known who had vanished, or died]...but such is inevitable. 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at at all, right?
I wasn't going to go home, unless they made me. I saw enough damage that my past self did, it'd be impossible to return to it. But I wasn't going to go saying everyone should be kept if they felt it was a prison. Why not keep the willing and let the unwilling go home? You couldn't really talk that kind of sense into either of the factions, though. Anyway, there were signs and such-the happenings got more metaphorical, the Tree started looking sick-some were convinced we were going to die. But the truth about Edensphere broke out at one point, and with the final pieces of truth, the glass shattered. And when it did? It brought back every memory that was missing.
We had choices. Find home, stay in the now altered realm, travel around...it was all up to us. I kind of mix it all, and travel while still going back to Edensphere-since after all, that's home now.
[Has she forgotten any vital details...ah yes, the name.]
There was also the choice to pick up my name again. I decided half and half on that point-I'm not Grell anymore, I can't use that name, but at the same time I am, so. Sutcliffe for a last name as a nod to what I was and maybe still am, and my given's the one I've been called for these past years, Juliet.
All that's the short version of it. God, and I still likely threw unimportant details in there. Never really could summarise, but I can't give you a boring story when you specifically asked to hear the history.

He'd started with his head resting on his hands but by the end of her story, Ronald's sitting bolt upright. There's a rather evident look of both awe and respect in his eyes because really, she had him at the whole "being pulled from her realm" bit. Can't help but equate that to what happened to him and if so much could happen after the entire ordeal, how much one person could change... well... it was a little scary and a little exciting all at once. Truth be told, it sure beat an entire afterlife of paperwork.
It takes him a while to pull himself out of that stunned look but when he does, the grin on his face is the one sign of his being appreciative of the entire story. ]
Cor... that's quite the story. You're pretty much a self made lady after all that, eh?
Pardon my mistake from earlier then, Miss Juliet. You're most definitely a world and a half away from the Miss Sutcliffe I know. That's just... bloody impressive right there.

But if I may ask, why say it's impressive? I just did what I could.
