[ the unfortunate thing is, even though he's actually got both arms, Ciel can totally relate to the whole difficulty in tying ribbons thing. which is pretty obvious, because it just so happens that he...is currently trying to do the same thing. with a ribbon which looks remarkably similar.

...wow. awkward. he's just going to be over here sideyeing you a little, Charles, as he makes a rather lopsided bow. ]

[ it's not something he notices straight away, at least not directly, because he's troubling over his own ribbon for the moment. it involves a lot of feeling and guessing (though the same could be said, even in ciel's case), when he can hardly see what he's doing, and has only one set of fingers to keep the ribbon placed. he's managed a too-large loop when he does feel ciel's eyes on him, and he looks up without an ounce of amusement.

until he notices ciel is having about as much trouble as he is. this makes it perfectly clear that the boy in the room with him is also, most likely, rather used to being waited on or helped. charles lets the ribbon out from teeth and shoves it into his pocket. he has too much pride to ask anyone else to help him out and he isn't so certain ciel could tie a ribbon on anyone else besides. fluidly, he closes the space between them, and before lifting his hand, says: ] I'll keep it steady for you, then you can secure it a little better.

[ and, following his word, holds the ribbon in the best position possible for ciel to tug it comfortable and snug. the while he feels ciel's pulse through his palm, and it's hard not to think about knocking him on the ground and keeping him held there for a drink. equally, he can't help wondering if he offered to help ciel out as much as possible, what this human child might be willing to give away for compensation.
