Well, I'm not entirely certain of the method the theft was accomplished by, whether those you would have left behind should be distressed or at all aware of your disappearance. The welcoming notice informs us that it was in an attempt to save us from the imminent destruction of our planet, but given the various placements in time we can trace as our origins, I cannot entirely understand what methodology the Tower's wardens use in their selections. ...Or if that destruction is understood to have been so imminent, really, instead of occurring thousands of sweeps in one's future.

But you are not the first I have seen make reference to Alternia's demise as an event which has been already accomplished in your past, though you certainly look nothing like that girl. Tell me, little one, what is your name?

I did see the notice but Alternia was destroyed before our capture and partially by our own doing, as you said. It seems strange that they might wait until now to 'rescue' us. You implied that others of our race are here. Are there many? [Perhaps a small glimmer of hope? Perhaps the other inhabitants of Alternia had been saved from the Vast Glub and not just them?]

Well, it isn't an extreme amount, perhaps two dozen or so. A modest collection our keepers possess, one might imagine.

[ This was a bit odder. She'd never met Kanaya in person the last time she'd been in the Tower, only known her as a fellow jadeblood. Now that she's seen the girl with her own eyes, she understands why everyone seems to insist she must be her descendant, impossible as that would be. ] Ah, I'm the Dolorosa. My lusus, the Virgin Mother Grub told me stories of you but I always assumed they were simply wiggler tales, rather like the stories of Marquise Spinneret Mindfang which Vriska loves or of the Neophyte Redglare who Terezi attempts to emulate with her mangled scalemates. But you are real. However...if you are real, then how are you alive? Those of that era all passed many, many sweeps ago. And, respectfully, we have most certainly not spoken that I recall.

Well, I shouldn't expect it was so much a "The", the virgins of the brood are rather typical lusii among our caste. But, ergh, I hadn't realized the Marquise was so fabled a figure. [ She says it with a cringe, clearly unhappy to be discussing the subject. ]

I've noticed many discrepancies between the times our kind originate from, here. One or two may already have mentioned the destruction of our planet to me, in fact. But, unless there is in fact more than one jadeblooded Kanaya Maryam, I expect it was you I corresponded with. ...Or perhaps some alternate edition, that does additionally tend to occur.
