[If she's wandering the halls, she might find an... unusually dressed man, incongruous with the traditional art in the gallery he occupies. At the moment, he's studying something that looks like a blueprint for a flying ship...]

[ it's the outfit, of course, which catches her attention first. plain-jane Jennifer in her knee-length woolen dress can't quite wrap her mind around this man's getup.

...but then she spies the blueprints, and automatically edges a little closer, albeit rather timidly. a flying ship, is it? she knows about those--or, well, about zeppelins, at least. which aren't really the same thing at all, but she's looking all the same. ]

E-excuse me. [ she pipes up, though her voice is soft and hesitant. ]

[At the small voice, Kuja turns to look at her. If he looks her over, then it's brief: he smiles at her like a peer.]

Yes? Is there something I can assist you with, Miss?

[ that smile is something foreign to her. no one ever smiles at her like that. maybe her parents did, but she doesn't remember. she isn't quite sure what to make of it, but at least he doesn't seem threatening. ]

Ah--your blueprints. [ her eyes dart nervously toward the papers, as if she fears she'll be reprimanded simply for looking at them openly. ] That machine. I was...curious.

[Such a timid creature... she'll need light handling. So he keeps his smile small, stepping aside for her to see.]

It's an airship, one I had the privilege of owning for a short time. The Hilda Garde, later the Hilda Garde I. Beautiful ship, don't you think?

[ she moves closer with measured, wary steps--but move closer she does, until she's standing beside him, and can see the prints properly. ]

Yes I--I like it very much. [ she thinks she does, at least. doesn't she? ] It must have been...beautiful.

[More than he expected of her, since blueprints weren't as impressive as the real thing. Although...]

It was... In fact, I believe I saw a painting of it nearby. Would you like to see?

[Unthinkingly he offers his arm, a perfect picture of a gentleman, odd appearance aside.]

[ actually, she really would like to see the painting. his question receives a silent nod in response.

her eyes go a little wide, however, when he offers his arms--she looks like a doe caught in headlights, as it were--but after a moment's hesitation, she tentatively takes it, because she knows that's what he expects her to do. ]

[Oh dear, was that too much? Too late now; he escorts he down a couple passages then takes a turn to the painting he found earlier.]

Isn't it lovely?

[The airship is painted in oils on a backdrop of blue skies, white clouds, and desert, and a brown mountain range. Whoever painted it had a deft hand with light: one could almost feel the heat radiating from the frame.]
