The imbibing of blood is an important part of the sacred feast of the dead to take into oneself those that have passed on. As well, it is an useful supplement when water is scarce.

...I don't think jealous is a good word for what I'd be feeling in that scenario. I think I'd be...disheartened? Not because of her, mind you, but because I don't feel as if marrying into money is something she really wants. I don't think it would make her happy, at least not for very long. And that's all I really want for her...to find someone who can make her as happy as she's made me.

But if she married a man she fell in love with who just happened to be rich...I could be satisfied though I would miss her company greatly.

Depends on the situation. In my case, I was engaged to the princess who would actually take the throne - most of my training was to complement Natalia's plans, and I have the feeling that I was never expected to really contribute anyway, given my birth Score.

[Because yeah, die before you're twenty, suddenly taking on the responsibilities of the throne is less important.]

If we hadn't been engaged, the focus would have been on me taking over Father's dukedom when I came of age, not the throne. The succession in Kimlasca is fairly stable and it's rare that someone other than the primary heir has to step in, at least over the course of the last few centuries.

I suppose I probably had more education in military history and strategy than Natalia did, since I was intended to be her sword-arm in case we ever did go to war, but a lot of it has blurred with my training in the Oracle Knights.
