[ou] Thorin Oakenshield

Part 1: The Basics

1. What is your full name? Thorin II Oakenshield

2. Where and when were you born? TA 2746 Erebor, The Lonely Mountain.

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

Thrain II- Father. Warrior of Erebor and skilled as a smith.

Mother- I know not much about mother since father brought me up mainly.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?

Sister- Dis. Younger Brother- Frerin. Dis was a strong minded and loyal dwarf who was the mother of Kili and Fili, my nephews. She wanted me to take good care of Kili and Fili during the quest to reclaim Erebor. I have upheld her wishes since.

Frerin died at the battle of Azanulbizar at the tender age of 47. Just a wee lad. I don't like talking about it much.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.

Within the walls of the Tower of Animus. It feels like a prison and I seek to find an exit.

6. What is your occupation?

I am seeking to become a smith within the Tower ideally. Either that or the job of Jailer. It seems honest work, fighting monsters.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

I am around 5" in height. Tall for a dwarf. I have dwarvish tattoos on my upper biceps and piercings in both ears. I have braids in my hair and dwarven clasps keeping them in place. Scars number my body from burns from the smithy and from battle. Muscles and well-built. I have brown/grey eyes.

8. To which social class do you belong?

Does being a king count?

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?

No.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?
Right.

11. What does your voice sound like?

Deep and commanding.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?

Khuzdul, the language of the dwarves.

13. What do you have in your pockets?
A pipe and some pipeweed.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

I tend to scratch my beard when in thought and I frown a lot.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?

A mixed bag. When I was very young, growing up within the safe walls of Erebor was peaceful. We had a time of peace within the land. No Orc raids or dragons. I grew up playing with both Frerin and Dis and I grew to be a fine dwarf.

I learnt many skills from my father when I was a dwarrow. A young dwarf to those who know not what that is. It shaped my life for the better. It was only when I grew out of being a child then things took a turn for the worst. When the Orcs and dragons came.

16. What is your earliest memory?

When I managed to best Frerin within a duel with wooden sticks. He used two against me and only used one. I gained the upper hand and won the battle.

We were taught by our fathers, our elders. Not school as such.

It doesn't really apply to dwarves within mountains.

Strength, determination and loyalty. Stubbornness also.

I had many dwarf friends as a child. Some human ones from the city of Dale. They were good people.

A dwarf girl who had a small beard down her cheeks. Behind one of Erebor's many tall pillars.

That is rather personal and I'd rather not answer.
