And so on.

Once April had begun to feel more at ease around Aleph, she had started to ask more about his world, or mostly the tech his world has. His arm terminal has been, and still is, a thing of curiosity for her, so he wasn't surprised when she eventually asked him.

She had listened in amazement as he described it, and asked for more details for things that caught her interest, such as the terminals and such. And of course, by the end of the question and answers session, April had asked once again to see his arm terminal, which he let her examine with a faint smile.

The supply of food had slowly started to dwindle over the course of the month and while nobody had been taken from the tower this time, they still needed to find a way to gather food.

Which is why April had went to Tara the moment this had started to happen; Tara knew which plants would be good to eat and which ones to avoid, and April has the hunting skills to catch and prepare any sort of animal she had caught. They both had areas they could work in, and this way they would be able to help gather food for others in the tower, as well as themselves.

They were still hungry sometimes, but between the two of them, gathering food went much better than expected.

Magic is just science that we don't understand yet. Tara's heard that particular saying so many times before. It grates on her, honestly, just a bit, although she'd never say as much because to say as much would be to as good as admit that she had magic of her own, and this was not a thing to go around admitting back in her world.

But she's not in her world, is she? And so when April finds her coaxing a daisy to blooming in the little patch she's claimed for her garden, the only explanation Tara can give is magic.

Actually, her explanation is a good bit more complicated - all about learning to understand her power through using it to naturally coexist with the world, rather than changing it. About how it's easy to build an understanding of how all things are connecting through the roots of flowers. But it basically comes down to "magic".

It's a weight off her mind, therefore, when April seems more impressed with the daisy, with this little plant with a stem as thin as a hair and a bud the size of Tara's pinky joint, growing and flourishing among all these bigger plants. The technologically inclined girl already has a little potato plant to call her own in this little garden, after all, but flowers...flowers are something special.

Tara asks for a packet of flower seeds that night, from the suggestion box. Someone, she suspects either Jason or Ruana, drops them off in her room along with an oversized Venus Fly Trap that nearly takes her hand off, but Tara manages to snatch the packet of white acacia seeds from the dirt in its pod after sustaining only superficial teeth wounds.

The smile on April's face when they next meet at the garden is completely worth it.
