Hylia || Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

[A young woman with a resemblance that is strikingly similar to Zelda is walking along the hallway. Bare feet make not a single sound and a long white gown with flowing sleeves covers her. There's a gentle smile on her face, all calm, despite the situation.

She knows what she made every possible plan to save her world, to save the world that the Golden Goddesses left in her care. If it was gone, it was their will and Hylia had no place to argue that.]

[... Oh.

Oh.

There's... really only one thing that could explain this strangely familiar feeling this woman's presence gives her. And that leaves the princess frozen in place, a rare expression of utter awe upon her face.]

[Hylia smiles very softly to the young woman. While she isn't the same Zelda that Hylia had observed through times strands, to stop Demise, she is a Zelda that she saw and one of her bloodline.]

You act as though you have seen the dead.

[Oh, oh gosh, don't just stand there like a complete idiot, Zelda! You're in the presence of a Goddess for Nayru's sake!

After a gasp in shock at being addressed, Zelda bows deeply and with nothing but the utmost respect.]

Forgive me, Goddess...! I... I never once thought I would ever be honored to stand in your presence.

[Hylia almost laughs but stops herself, placing a hand beneath Zelda's chin as she bow and tilts her head up.]

Never were you meant to. And never should you bow to me, my dearest Zelda. You are of my bloodline, you bow to none but the Golden Ones.

[Zelda allows her head to be tilted up, but does not rise. Instead, merely looking at Hylia, reverent... and perhaps apologetic.]

Yet... I have brought no honor to you or your bloodline, Your Grace. I have failed to protect Hyrule so many times-- I do not deserve your blessings.

[With no one else would she be so open about her shame. Hylia is a goddess, after all; how can one expect to keep secrets from divinity?]

Hyrule still lives, as do those of my family. Demise and his incarnations have not yet destroyed the land. I think that you and the Hero have done more than enough to honor your family lines.

But, because of my actions, Ganondorf-- Demise's incarnation took hold of the Triforce and tarnished the Sacred Realm...! Perhaps the Hero, who righted my wrongs, has lived up to the glory of his ancestors, but not I.

The bearer of Wisdom was never meant to be perfect, Zelda. Never meant to defeat him on its own.

I knew that none of my descendants would be perfect and I never wanted them to be. I was not perfect either.

I never wanted to wage war with him - merely protect my home...

[But her words are weak, and she looks down once more, as if to hide how intensely the Goddess' words make her feel.]

I... have no delusions about being perfect by any means. I just wish to be... decent, at least, in the eyes of others.

And you have that right.

[Hylia gives her a sad sort of smile and does something that's probably quite unheard of in any of the stories or legends Zelda may know. She pulls Zelda into a hug.]

You aren't decent. You are wonderful. Your family line has made me so much more proud than I though I could be. And to be able to see you is more than I could ever have hoped for.

Wh... what?

[To say she is surprised would be an understatement. She stands rigid in Hylia's hold, eyes wide and heart beating like a hummingbird in her chest. It... it has been so long since she's been held like this...]

... I-I do not understand - why...?

[She was the last person Link ever expected to see in the Tower, and he found himself like a deer in headlights at the other side of the hall.

Slowly, and cautiously, he walks over to her, and kneels onto one knee, placing a hand over his chest.]

[The distance between them is quickly closed, the White Goddess laying her hands on his shoulders and encouraging him to stand.]
