This might be a canon question, but is there any particular reason Rose always wears sunglasses? Protection, some kind of uniform, or does she just think they look cool?

In this AU Rose is the Strider instead of Dave, and thus she's got bright red eyes now. They're incredibly sensitive to sunlight so she wears the sunglasses to keep herself from being blinded, which was especially important before Sburb because ahaha sunlight is everywhere in Houston.

She'd be wearing something besides the dumb pointy anime shades but her brother is a teleporting doucheface who steals birthday presents. >B(

Only story I know is the one about Lina selling the pictures of Luna in the shower to the neighborhood guys and catching hell from Luna for it, alas, and that's covered in the anime.

Nope! It's just her last name. In Homestuck canon the kids go John Egbert/Jade Harley/Dave Strider/Rose Lalonde.

In my AU I just moved the kids around so they've been raised by different people, resulting in John Lalonde/Jade Egbert/Dave Harley/Rose Strider. It's fun! But also probably really confusing for other people not into HS, ahaha.

So, the clarification is much appreciated. o7 From what I've gathered of, say, John Egbert's dad, it does seem like that would be an interesting AU.

Hey, it's no problem. I like to ramble on and on about everything I enjoy, so it's all good. Rose has a title too, but that's a different kettle of fish entirely.

But yeah, it's a glorious trainwreck. For a little persepctive here is the guy who raised Rose in this AU. Pointy shades dude.
