I know this has been brought up before, and that there were lots of OOC issues going on, but for the past two or three months, mod-involved events have dragged on to the point of petering out and finally getting a handwaved ending. The most egregious example was this recent Jasonbusters one. So the only criticism I have for this game is that I would like the mod-involved plots to be more consistently tagged.

Other than that, I still love the game, especially how the story and the NPCs have developed.

Hey, Mel here! This was absolutely my fault. You're right that this is definitely an issue, especially given the game heading into endgame. I've taken steps to make it easier for the others to hop into things (especially NPC-heavy events). Things should improve, and if not I'll look into bringing someone else in especially to deal with helping with this issue.

Regarding the event-- It was holidays and all, so I totally understand the delays and all that happened. No, my concern is about the event outcome that was decided by the mods: Jason escaped, everyone was killed, etc. While I understand why you did this, I believe for such a decision the players involved in the plot should have been consulted.

There were roughly ten characters involved in Team Ambush, ten others in the various Distraction Teams. They had a pretty good attack plan and even managed to enlist Zo's help-- Time ran out and we couldn't play it out, so obviously making a decision without threading the battle was needed.

But here we're left to assume the fighters just watched as Jason pushed the kill button. Last time we reached the conclusion that they knew about it, and as such they may have planned in consequences. But with that decision, we are forced to play ICly that none of them were good or competent enough to prevent Jason from pushing the button. Which may very well be what would have happened, we don't know. We all expect our characters to die when we go up against the administrators, but here we had been promised a fair chance and it feels as though this fair chance just vanished into thin air.

What is done is done now, that can't be changed. But I believe in the future, consulting the players more in such a case would be a good idea.

But that's the case, isn't it? We weren't able to come up with a plan that we knew for sure would work in any of our plotting plurks and you told us you were going to go to the mods with the ideas we did come up with. Since you went to them and they knew about them, the plans weren't enough to stop him from pushing the button and our characters ICly were not competent enough to stop him. It isn't the outcome we were hoping for, but it is what happened. You especially shouldn't be saying that there was no consultation since you were the one taking our ideas and passing them onto them; communication was happening through you.

I really dislike that it took so long for them to get back to us. We were held up for a really long time because of it and our characters were in limbo and the game drove to a standstill and that was bad modding and I'm upset about it, but I'm not upset about the result because you said you were going to them with our ideas and taking them into account did let us accomplish something. We wounded him and I am pretty sure it was said by one of the mods on plurk that this attempt was a lead-in to an attempt with a much higher chance of success? That's something. It isn't what I wanted but it's something.

I have a lot to say about the way NPCing has been handled but it looks like others have said it already and it has been responded to. But I needed to say something here because it isn't fair to say they didn't consult us when they did, if the plurks you started are to be believed.

Now if you didn't pass on the ideas then yeah that kind of sucks a lot because what if one of them might have worked? But we knew from the start that the chances of actually killing Jason were totally slim so I can't say I'm surprised even if I am sort of disappointed.

I did pass the ideas and if I remember correctly, it had been decided that the thread would have to be played out. On one hand it was possible for them to manage and stop Jason to press the kill button, but on the other it was very hard with nothing but the raw ideas to determinate who would win, Jason or the Attack team.

I think I did a bad choice of words; indeed there was consultation back then, but there hasn't been any since then. Since the last time I spoke with the mods the possibility for them to stop Jason was still very real and nothing had been decided yet, this is why I said I wish there had been more communication in regard to choosing the outcome.

The holiday excuse only goes so far. There's more than one mod. A two week delay on even giving any information out probably cost a player or two, and I know cost a few future apps. And now, two weeks after every mod mysteriously vanished off the face of the earth, all the players are getting out of it is "You failed, everyone died, and here's some glamour crap as a reward for your patience!" Players don't get a scene, not any kind of interaction with the admin that killed them all, not even an idea of how Jason murdered everyone, just a "You died". After two weeks of NOTHING from any of you. This anon has been in a lot of disappointing situations but this one really takes the cake.

Pretty much put my thoughts prior to event's end over here. Reiterating that I would like to see more communication on an OOC level — preferably in the OOC community, since getting a plurk isn't a requirement upon joining, nor is following the mod plurk. I firmly believe that better communication will help things flow more smoothly overall.

Other than that, looking forward to seeing what comes next.

I agree. Building off of the above comments, I think things would go more smoothly if there was more communication in regards to plotting on the OOC Comm. Most of the plotting I see is on plurk and, unless the players take initiative, it winds up practically "required" to have a plurk to plot with anyone.

Now, I like plurk and everything, but I really think anything from the mod end should be on the OOC Comm. Something like the discussion of if/how Jason would fall would have been better on the OOC Comm. The only time I heard about a decision being made at all was through a plurk of one of the lead plotters who was on a time limit of their own IRL. If there was a chance for people to weigh in via the OOC Comm over a day instead of a few hours, we might have come up with something better or a better idea of how to take him down. On top of that the outcome posted wouldn't have seemed so out of the blue to people who didn't know about Jason having a literal killswitch.
