He pauses once he sees Madoka.]

[She turns around at the sound of the voice, expecting to see...well, not a monster, that's for sure. She jumps, automatically taking a step backwards, trying to decide whether or not she should run.

What is that? It...can't be some kind of witch, can it? No, that doesn't make any sense.]

[What does she say? She's a little too busy being scared out of her wits to figure that out right now.]

I do hope you're not thinking of trying to befriend me or something stupid like that. The last little wretch that tried that certainly came to regret it...

[Madoka may be kind, but "befriending" was certainly not the first thing that came to mind when she laid eyes on this creature...and now she's fairly certain that was a good thing. He doesn't seem very friendly.

She slowly takes another step back, still debating whether or not it would be wise to run.]
